
COAS Celebrates With Frontline Troops Of Sector 1 Operation Fansan Yamma
In furtherance of efforts to boost troops’ morale in line with the Soldiers First Concept, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Nigerian Army Medal (NAM), has charged troops of Sector 1 Joint Task Force Operation FANSAN YAMMA to remain professional, disciplined and committed in the discharge of their operational duties.
The COAS gave the charge during a Christmas luncheon organised as part of activities marking the 2025 yuletide celebrations with troops of Sector 1 OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA.
He emphasised the need for heightened vigilance, particularly during the festive period, urging the troops to remain steadfast and operationally alert.
The COAS, who was represented at the event by the Chief of Administration (Army), Major General Isa Abdullahi, commended the troops for their resilience, sacrifices and dedication in the ongoing operations across the North West, assuring them of the Nigerian Army High Command’s continued support towards their welfare and operational effectiveness.
The host, General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Nigerian Army,/ Commander Sector 1 Joint Task Force OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Muhammad Wase, also join the SGOH in serving the troops and encouraged them to sustain the current operational tempo in the fight against criminal elements within the operational area.
Highlights of the yuletide activities included visits to Forward Operating Bases in Birnin Gwari, Tegina and Rijana, interaction with troops at various locations, and presentation of souvenirs to boost morale, among other activities.
