COAS Felicitates With Personnel Of 3 Division Operation Safe Haven During Eid-El-Kabir Luncheon In Plateau State

In continuation of efforts to sustain the high morale of personnel during the Eid-El-Kabir festivities, the Chief of Army Staff(COAS), Lieutenant General TA Lagbaja NAM, on 17 June 2024 felicitated with personnel during a luncheon to celebrate the event in Plateau State with dignitaries within and outside Plateau State in attendance.

Delivering the Goodwill Message, the COAS represented by the General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General AE Abubakar, noted that Eid-el-Kabir was one of the significant celebrations in the Islamic calendar during which Muslims demonstrate their obedience to Allah by sacrificing animals. The COAS added that officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army have displayed uncommon courage and faith in the country in the face of grave danger and coming out victorious.

Speaking further, the COAS enjoined personnel and their family members to renew their commitment to personal sacrifice for the growth and development of the country. He described the sacrifices of personnel as the bedrock of the nation’s security, and assured of his commitment to continually provide the leadership required to train, live, and fight well. The COAS further expressed profound gratitude to the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for his unwavering support and focused leadership.

The General Officer Commanding/Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN on his part applauded troops for the recent successes achieved against armed militias and other criminal elements, and urged them not to relent in their struggles to make the country safe.

The Special Guest of Honour, Brigadier General IY Dogara (Rtd), in his remarks, said the Sallah celebration highlights the virtue of loyalty, obedience and sacrifice which Prophet Mohammed embodies. He revealed that OPSH has continued to holistically address the myriad of multi-dimensional security challenges confronting the areas under the operation.

The Special Guest of Honour, thanked the troops for their robust intelligence-driven operations, which has helped to keep Plateau, Bauchi and Kaduna States safe while addressing security threats as they arise.

In their separate remarks, the heads of security agencies in Plateau State, promised to continue partnering with 3 Division and Operation SAFE HAVEN to keep the State safe. They described OPSH as a pillar of support to other security agencies operating in the State. They further reaffirmed their commitment to always collaborate with OPSH as the lead agency in maintaining law and order towards ensuring a stabilized Plateau.

The event also witnessed cultural display by the New Wave Irigwe Traditional dancers, riddles and jokes as well as special appearance by a popular Nollywood Actor, Prince Nwafor.
