
COAS Holds Troops Of Operation Delta Safe To Christmas Luncheon
As part of the activities to commemorate the Yuletide celebration, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Nigerian Army Medal, feted with the troops of Operation DELTA SAFE at Efuru Barracks, Warri, Delta State, on Friday, 26 December 2025.
In his remarks, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, represented by the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Major General Musa Awwal Etsu-Ndagi, said the celebration aimed to boost the morale of the troops and consolidate their successes in various operations, aligning with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy, which focuses on the soldier-first culture and robust administration.
He commended the troops for their professional conduct in combating crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism, kidnapping, and other associated crimes in their area of operations and environs, leading to increased national oil production.
The Chief of Civil-Military Affairs expressed the COAS’s appreciation to the troops’ families for their support, encouraging good performance. He urged the troops to continue discharging their duties diligently for more success.
Commander 63 Brigade Sector 1 Joint Task Force South-South Operation DELTA SAFE, Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdumoshood Shonibare, thanked the Chief of Army Staff for his support and the luncheon, recognizing the troops’ efforts and encouraging their families. He urged the troops to redouble their efforts to achieve more success.
In attendance were Senior Military Officers, heads of security agencies, members of the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association, families, and friends of the troops.
