COAS Urges Combat Service Support Corps To Remain Resolute In The Provision Of Logistics Support To All Nigerian Army Operations
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja has urged the Combat Service Support Corps of the Nigerian Army to examine their approach in logistics delivery in support of Nigerian Army Operations. He gave this directive recently while declaring the 25th Combat Service Support Corps training week open. The COAS was ably represented by the Commander Corps of Signals Major General Gbemiga Adesina.
The event took place at NEBO hall, Headquarters Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps, Abalti Barracks Lagos. The COAS expressed delight as he enjoined the logisticians to be open minded and explore new innovative ideas that would enhance efficient service delivery to Nigerian Army operations. He equally thanked the Commander – in-Chief of the Armed forces president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued support and pledged the Nigerian Army’s unwavering loyalty. He equally appreciated the synergy of the Nigerian Navy, Air force and other services across theaters of operations.
Earlier in a welcome address the Commander, Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (NAEME) Major General Baba Yahaya, the chief host of this year’s event said the Combat Service Support training week is an annual event aimed at brainstorming on ways to efficiently and effectively provide service delivery to Nigerian Army Operations. He assured the COAS that at the end of the training week positive innovations would be achieved.
The Combat Logistics Service Support Corps includes Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport, Medical Corps, Ordnance Corps and Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps. The opening lecture for the training week titled enhancing combat service support to NA Operations within a joint Environment towards achieving constitutional responsibilities was delivered by Major General JB Olawumi.
Present at the event were principal Staff Officers from the Army Headquarters, Commandant Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre, Director General DICON, General Officers Commanding 7 and 81 Division, Fleet Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Air Officer Logistics Command, Commandants of Nigerian Army Training Institutions, traditional rulers, serving and retired Senior military Officers, heads of Para Military organizations resource persons and several other distinguished personalities. Part of events for the opening ceremony was a Medical Outreach which took place on Monday 19 August, the training week is scheduled to end on Friday 23 August 2024 attached are pictures of the event.
