Combat Service Support Corps Commence Training Week With Medical Outreach
The 25th Combat Service Support Training Week (CSSTW) commenced today, August 19, 2024 with a medical outreach in Makoko Community, Yaba Lagos State. The outreach is aimed at improving health conditions and assisting the less privileged in the community.
While flagging off the event the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, who was represented by the Commander, Corps of Engineers Major General Philip Eromosele, said the medical outreach is part of the Nigerian Army (NA) Civil-Military activities is meant to give back to the communities where NA is operating. He stated that the outreach is aimed at improving the health care services within the host communities as well as assisting the less privileged to live a better life.
Earlier in his remarks the Chief host, the Commander Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Major General Baba Yahaya on behalf of the Combat Service Support Arms of the NA comprising of the NA Supply and Transport Corps, NA Ordnance Corps, NA Medical Corps and NA Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps, underscore the vital role of the exercise in fostering a cordial working relationship with the host communities. He further stressed that the outreach is conducted to enhance harmonious relationship with the communities through non-kinetic effort in the fight against insecurity.
While delivering the vote of thanks, His Royal Highness Oba Sulaiman Owolabi Ogunoloko, Ade-Ori Okin II the Olu of Iwaya, appreciated the NA for providing medical succor to his community, he added that it was indeed a commendable effort by the NA which will go a long way in helping the less privilege who cannot afford the expensive medical services provided by the NA.
