Comedian and Actor Aziz Ansari Accused of Sexual Misconduct
In a story on Babe, a photographer, identified as Grace for anonymity, shares how she met him at the 2017 Emmy Awards and went on a date that “turned into the worst night of (her) life.”
Grace had flirted with the actor who has written a book on feminism titled “Modern Romance” at the awards after-party, she said, and he had asked for her number.
They had had dinner where they talked about a secret project he was working on, but she said she felt he was in a hurry to leave. She said:
When the waiter came over he quickly asked for the check and he said like, ‘Let’s get off this boat.
Like, he got the check and then it was bada-boom, bada-bing, we’re out of there.
They had allegedly returned to his condo apartment, and that was when the night began to turn sour.
The two started kissing as soon as they were in his apartment, she said. “In a second, his hand was on my breast.”
Grace described the progressive comedian’s persistence in his attempts to get them to have sex, telling her he was going to grab a condo in the first few minutes after their first kiss.
She used both verbal and non-verbal clues to indicate she wasn’t interested in the date going that far, telling him: “I said I don’t want to feel forced because then I’ll hate you, and I’d rather not hate you.”
However, while Aziz Ansari would relent, a few minutes later he’d allegedly be back on her, asking her “Where do you want me to f— you?”
Finally she left, she said, and sent him a text message saying: “Last night might’ve been fun for you, but it wasn’t for me. You ignored clear non-verbal clues; you kept going with advances.”
Ansari replied with an apology, saying: “I’m so sad to hear this. Clearly, I misread things in the moment and I’m truly sorry.”
Social media users have been commenting on the issue with several people discussing how “nice guys” often occupy a “weird space” in women’s lives.
