Commandant AFCSC Visits CAS, Seeks Strategic Guidance and Sustained NAF Support

The Commandant, Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, AO Shogbamu, on Tuesday, 10 February 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Kelvin Aneke, at Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Abuja. During the visit, the Commandant expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him through his appointment and pledged to deliver beyond expectations. He also commended the CAS for the notable infrastructure development recorded within the first 100 days of his tenure, describing the achievements as impactful and morale-boosting for personnel.

Air Vice Marshal Shogbamu explained that the visit was to formally notify the CAS of his assumption of office, seek strategic guidance, and solicit sustained Nigerian Air Force support toward strengthening training and professional development at the College. He underscored the importance of continued collaboration in sustaining AFCSC’s reputation as a centre of excellence for joint operations, leadership development, and inter-agency cooperation.

In his remarks, the CAS noted that the Commandant carries significant responsibility, stressing that AFCSC remains a cornerstone institution in shaping both junior and senior military leadership. He highlighted the College’s critical role in equipping officers with competencies in service correspondence, jointness with sister services, inter-agency synergy, and civil-military relations. Air Marshal Aneke assured the Commandant of the NAF’s continued support to enable the College’s leadership achieve its mandate.
