
Commandant NASME Hosts Commander 4 Special Forces Command, Assured Him Of NASME’s Collaboration With 4 Special Forces For Operational Efficiency
The Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Military Engineering (NASME), Major General Idongesit Essien Ekpenyong, on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, assured the Commander 4 Special Forces (SF) Command of enhanced collaboration between NASME and 4 SF Command for troops’ operational efficiency. He made this known during a courtesy visit by the Commander 4 SF Command, Major General Olurotimi Azubuike Awolo, to Headquarters NASME. The visit was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between 4 SF Command and NASME.
Speaking further , the Commandant, expressed the readiness of NASME to always partner with 4 SF Command in training the 4 SF personnel in Counter Improvised Explosive Devices and other areas. He congratulated the Commander for his appointment, eulogised his unwavering dedication towards the Command and underscored the importance of 4 SF Command in Nigerian Army.
Earlier in his brief, Major General AWOLO noted that the visit was in line with the long-standing traditions of the Command and served as a formal introduction following his appointment as the substantive Commander. He expressed his gratitude to the Commandant for his efforts in maintaining the standard of NASME in producing combatant Military Engineers and pledged to sustain the established cooperation between the Command and NASME.
Major General Awolo further reiterated that the Command will continue to operate in-line with the Chief of Army Staff Command Philosophy which is “To advance the Transformation of the Nigerian Army into a more professional, adaptable, combat ready and resilience force capable of decisively discharging its Constitutional responsivities within a Joint and Multi-Agency Environment”
Highlights of the visit were strategic discussion, presentation of souvenirs, signing of the NASME visitor’s book and group photograph.
