Commandant National Defence College Pays Courtesy Visit To The Chief Of Naval Staff

On Wednesday, 12 November 2025, the Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC), Rear Admiral Abdullahi Ahmed, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, at the Naval Headquarters, Abuja. Rear Admiral Ahmed began by expressing appreciation for the warm reception and congratulated the CNS on his appointment. He acknowledged the continued collaboration between the College and the Nigerian Navy, noting that such synergy remains vital to advancing strategic military education and national security objectives.

The Commandant briefed the CNS on key developments at the College, particularly the planned relocation to its permanent site. He stated that construction of facilities is ongoing and appealed for the continued support of the CNS and other Service Chiefs to ensure a smooth transition. Rear Admiral Ahmed also highlighted challenges relating to accommodation and infrastructure, while outlining plans to strengthen collaboration with Defence Attachés and review the College’s curriculum to reflect evolving security dynamics. He further sought the Navy’s partnership in research on strategic maritime and defence policy areas.

In his response, the CNS commended the College for its vital contributions to national defence development and reaffirmed the Nigerian Navy’s commitment to supporting its activities. He assured the Commandant of the Navy’s readiness to assist in addressing accommodation challenges and facilitating the College’s move to its permanent site.
