Commander 14 Brigade Visit Heads Of Security Agencies In Abia State, Calls For Enhanced Synergy In Joint Operations

In an effort to strengthen the existing mutual relationship between the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in Abia State, the Commander 14 Brigade Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 3 Joint Task Force Southeast Operation UDO KA (OPUK), Brigadier General Hassan Bello has called for enhanced inter – agency collaboration to curb the prevalent crimes and violence in Abia State.

He made this call during his maiden familiarization visits to heads of some security agencies in Abia State on Thursday, February 20, 2025, following his assumption of command.

The Commander’s first point of call was to the Abia State Police Command, where he was received by the Commissioner of Police Abia State (CP) Danladi Isa. Brigadier General Bello explained that his visit aimed to familiarize himself with the Abia State Police command and foster a stronger working relationship, building upon the foundations laid by his predecessor. He assured the CP of the Brigade’s unwavering support whenever needed. This synergy, he noted, is crucial for realizing the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede’s Command Philosophy of a well-motivated and combat-ready force capable of effectively discharging its constitutional responsibilities within a joint and multi-agency environment.

CP Danladi Isa briefed the Commander on the security situation in the state, highlighting the police’s efforts to combat criminal elements. He attributed past successes to the existing synergy and collaboration with the Nigerian Army, pledging continued cooperation to achieve a safer and more peaceful Abia State through joint operations. The Commander then proceeded to the Headquarters of the Department of State Services (DSS), where he met with State Director Mrs Nadia Muhammed – Soso.

During his interaction Brigadier General Bello emphasized the importance of intelligence and information sharing, recognizing the DSS as a vital source of data essential for successful operations. Mrs Soso pledged to maintain the established synergy with the Nigerian Army and assured prompt intelligence sharing for mutual benefits and the overall security of the state.

In similar vein, Brigadier General Hassan visited the State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Akinsola Aderemi Ajose, and the State Controller of Fire Federal Fire Service Abia State Command, where he was received by Deputy Controller of Fire (DCP) Onyendi Juliet. He reiterated the importance of inter-agency collaboration for safety and security, seeking closer ties and assuring his readiness to work with both agencies at all times.
