Commander 18 Brigade Sub Sector 2 Operation Fansan Yamma Commends Troops For Operational Success

The Commander 18 Brigade, Nigerian Army (NA) /CommanderSub Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY). Brigadier General IB Gambari has commended troops for thier exceptional courage, resilience, and professionalism during military operations that culminated in the neutralisation of 2 notorious bandits kingpins.Kachallla Gudale and Kachalla Aminu Danmaitabs within the Brigade/Sub sector’s area of Responsibility.

Brigadier General Gambari gave the commendation during operational visits to Forward Operating Bases at KOTONKORO, BANGI , KWANAR DUTSE, GULBIN BOKA and WARARI on 2 Feb 2026.

The Commander also interacted with the Officers and Men, assessed the operational environment, and boosted their morale.

Similarly, Brigadier General Gambari noted that his visit was inspired by the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy which is ‘To advance the transformation of the Nigerian Army into a more professional ,adaptable ,combat ready and resilient force capable of effectively discharging it’s constitutional responsibilities within a joint and Multi agency environment’.

Speaking further, the Commander applauded the doggedness and unwavering commitment over the last 2 days ,noting that their bravery and sacrifice were pivotal to the recent operational successes recorded against the criminal elements .He charged the troops to remain resolute and steadfast ,stressing that there should be no mercy for the terrorists and other criminal elements undermining peace and security within the state and other adjoining areas.

He further informed the troops that 18 Brigade has now transited from OPFY to Operation SAVANNAH SHIELD and urged them to sustain the offensive posture under the new operational framework.

The Commander further conveyed goodwill messages and commendations from the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, the theatre Commander OPFY, the Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Defence Staff. The senior military leadership also commended the troops for their dedication and sacrifices and urged them to sustain the operational tempo while maintaining the highest standards of discipline and professionalism.

Brigadier General Gambari reassured the troops of the continued support of the the NA High Command and reiterated the commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to decisively degrade banditry, terrorism and all forms of criminality within the Brigade Area of Responsibility.
