Commander 22 Armoured Brigade Visits Frontline Troops, Sustains Yuletide Special Patrols In Kwara

‎The Commander 22 Armoured Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Nicholas Rume, on 25 December 2025, led an entourage from Ilorin to visit troops deployed at various frontline locations within Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State as part of activities marking the Christmas Day celebration.

‎Troops’ locations visited by the Brigade Commander included Oreke, Babasango, Eka, Babanla and Oke Ode. The visit aimed to boost morale and celebrate the holiday season with troops on active duty.

‎During the visit, Brigadier General Rume conveyed the Chief of Army Staff’s goodwill message to the troops, interacted with them and assured them of the Command’s commitment to prioritising troop welfare in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy, which emphasises professionalism, adaptability, combat readiness, and resilience. He also commended the troops for their sacrifices and dedication, while urging them to remain disciplined, vigilant and steadfast in the discharge of their duties.

‎Similarly, two other teams represented the Brigade Commander at additional locations. One team was led by the Chief of Staff, 22 Armoured Brigade, Major Stephen Ugwuanyi, while the second team was headed by the Garrison Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Emmanuel Olonilebi. Troops’ locations visited by these teams included Bukungi, Lafiagi, Patigi, Irepodun, Oro-Ago and Eruku. All visits were conducted without incident.

‎Meanwhile, troops of 22 Armoured Brigade have continued Yuletide Special Patrols within the Brigade’s joint operations area to dominate the environment and deny terrorists, bandits and other criminal elements freedom of action. Areas covered during the ongoing patrols include Ilorin–Ajase, Ajase–Eruku, Ajase–Babanla, Share–Bode Saadu, Shao–Ogbomosho Road and Ajase–Erinle.

‎The patrols remain ongoing and have so far been hitch-free.
