The Commander 29 Task Force Brigade, Joint Task Force, (JTF) North East (NE) Operation Hadin Kai, (OPHK) Brigadier General Oseni Braimah, has charged newly promoted officers of the Brigade to embrace professionalism, self discipline and continuous personal development as they take on greater responsibilities in service to the nation.
The Brigade Commander gave this charge while delivering his remarks at the decoration ceremony of newly promoted officers of the formation held at the Brigade Headquarters Benishiekh on Saturday, 16 August 2025.
General Braimah commended the officers for their elevation, noting that promotion in the Nigerian Army is not a right but a privilege, and ultimately the will of God. He expressed appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede NAM, for finding the officers worthy of promotion. He advised them to prioritise personal development as they rise in Service.
“You must develop yourself because you cannot give what you do not have. Seek knowledge, remain professional and strive for excellence. “That is what will earn you glory and respect,”
While congratulating the newly promoted officers, Brigadier General Braimah reminded them that higher expectations now come with their new rank. “As lieutenants, your mistakes may be forgiven. But as captains, much more is required of you. Promotion comes with responsibility, and you must earn it,” he cautioned.
He concluded by commending the officers for their contributions to the successes of the Brigade thus far and prayed for their continued success in service to the nation.
On behalf of the newly decorated officers, Captain Moses Ogungbola expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God for His grace, acknowledging that promotion comes only from Him. He extended appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff for approving their promotion and to the Commander, 29 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General Braimah, for his firm but fair leadership, and commitment to officers’ growth and welfare.
He further thanked the senior officers for their words of advice, colleagues for their support, and all invited guests for their presence and encouragement, assuring that the newly promoted officers would discharge their duties with zeal, dedication, and excellence.
