Commander 4 Special Forces Command Pays Operational Visit To 402 Special Forces Brigade, Charges Troops To Intensify Fight Against Boko Haram/ISWAP Insurgents

‎The Commander 4 Special Forces Command, Major General Olurotimi Azubuike Awolo, has paid an operational visit to the 402 Special Forces Brigade in Borno State, where he charged troops to remain vigilant, disciplined, and diligent in the ongoing fight against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists.

‎The visit, which took place on 22 December 2025 at the Brigade Headquarters, Maimalari Cantonment, Borno State, was aimed at assessing the operational posture of special forces troops, reviewing operational capabilities, and strengthening coordination for enhanced operational success.

‎Upon arrival, the Commander was received by the Commander 402 Special Forces Brigade, Brigadier General Mohammed Bako Shehu, who briefed him on the prevailing security situation in the joint operations area. Brigadier General Shehu highlighted the achievements recorded by the Brigade, challenges encountered, and ongoing efforts to maintain operational dominance.

‎Addressing officers and soldiers of the Brigade, Major General Awolo commended the troops for their dedication, resilience, and sacrifices in ensuring peace and stability within the Theatre of Operations.

‎He urged them to sustain the current momentum against the terrorists and their cohorts, and continue to safeguard lives and property, noting that special forces troops are renowned for professionalism, precision, and excellence in operations.

‎The Commander further charged the troops to remain professional, proactive, and battle-ready at all times, stressing that evolving security challenges require continuous alertness and high operational efficiency. He assured the personnel of the commitment of the Appropriate Superior Authority towards addressing issues related to their welfare, equipment holdings, and overall operational capabilities.

‎Highlights of the visit included delivery of operational briefing by the Brigade Commander highlighting major achievements of the Brigade, which were highly commended by the visiting Commander. The visit also featured a guided tour of ongoing construction works and key facilities within the Brigade.
