
Commander 401 SF Brigade Commissions Landmark Projects At 72 SF Battalion
The Commander 401 Special Forces Brigade (Comd 401 SF Bde), Colonel Kolawole Bukoye, has marked yet another significant milestone with the commissioning and unveiling of several landmark projects executed under the visionary leadership of the Commanding Officer, 72 Special Forces Battalion (CO 72 SF Bn) Makurdi, Lieutenant Colonel Sunday Itse Agwon.
The historic event, held on 24 September 2025 at 72 SF Battalion, Joe Akaahan Cantonment Makurdi, was graced by Comd 401 SF Bde Colonel Bukoye as the Special Guest of Honour.
In his welcome address, the CO 72 SF Bn, Lieutenant Colonel Agwon, expressed that the newly completed projects were carefully designed to enhance troop welfare, operational readiness, and overall efficiency within the Battalion. He commended the dedication and resilience of the officers and soldiers of 72 SF Bn, whose collective commitment made the projects a reality despite prevailing operational challenges.
In his remarks, Colonel Bukoye applauded Lieutenant Colonel Agwon for his foresight and unwavering commitment to enhancing the living and working conditions of personnel. He charged troops to take ownership of the facilities and ensure proper maintenance so that they continue to serve their purpose for years to come.
The event featured the commissioning and unveiling of several key projects, including the Battalion Signage at the Unknown Jumper, a Security House at the main gate, Signage at the Battalion Quarter Guard and Headquarters, a Standby/Training Shed, and a Security House at the Unit Magazine. The event was rounded off with a group photograph and the presentation of a souvenir to the Special Guest of Honour.
