
Commander 402 Special Forces Brigade Celebrates Christmas With Frontline Troops
The Commander 402 Special Forces Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Mohammed Bako Shehu, on 25 December 2025, celebrated the Christmas festivities with troops of 199 and 134 Special Forces Battalions as part of efforts to boost the morale of personnel deployed at various frontline locations within the Brigade’s Area of Operations.
The visit formed part of activities marking the 2025 Christmas Day celebration and was aimed at encouraging troops on active duty, appreciating their sacrifices, and strengthening esprit de corps. During the visit, the Commander interacted with the troops, shared the joy of the season with them, and reassured them of the Command’s unwavering commitment to their welfare.
Brigadier General Mohammed Bako Shehu conveyed the goodwill message of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) to the troops and emphasized that troops welfare remains a top priority in line with the COAS Command Philosophy, which underscores professionalism, adaptability, combat readiness, and resilience.
He commended the troops for their dedication, courage, and selfless sacrifices in the ongoing operations, while urging them to remain disciplined, vigilant, and steadfast in the discharge of their duties.
The troops expressed appreciation for the Commander’s visit, describing it as timely and highly motivating, especially during the festive season.
Highlights of the event included a Christmas Service, the COAS goodwill message, a luncheon with the troops, and a group photograph.
