Commander 6 Brigade Honours Troops With New Year Luncheon, Recognises Sacrifice and Professionalism

The Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army / Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, has hosted officers and soldiers of 114 Battalion (Rear), Jimilari, to a New Year Luncheon in appreciation of their dedication, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to duty.

Speaking at the event in Jimilari, Brigadier General Uwa commended the officers and soldiers for their professionalism, resilience and loyalty in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities, particularly in ongoing operations across the Brigade’s area of responsibility. He noted that their collective efforts have continued to contribute significantly to peace, stability and the protection of lives and property.

The Commander acknowledged the personal sacrifices made by personnel, including prolonged deployments and time away from their families, describing them as the true backbone of the Nigerian Army. He assured the troops of the command’s continued commitment to their welfare, morale and operational effectiveness.

Brigadier General Uwa further urged the personnel to remain disciplined, loyal and professional in the New Year, while upholding the core values of the Nigerian Army. He expressed confidence that the Brigade would record greater operational successes through teamwork, vigilance and renewed dedication to service.

In a clear demonstration of his Soldiers First leadership philosophy, the Commander personally served the troops at the serving point.

The New Year Luncheon provided an opportunity for officers and soldiers to interact in a relaxed atmosphere, strengthen esprit de corps and commence the year on a positive and highly motivated note.
