Commander Corps Of Signal Calls For More Commitment To Duty As He Decorates Promoted Senior Officer

The Commander Corps of Signals (CCS), Major General Mohammed Abdullahi has called on the promoted senior officer to continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, dedication and commitment to duty as he decorated promoted senior officer during a decoration ceremony held on 31 December 2025 at the Murtala Mohammed House, Headquarters Nigerian Army Signals (HQ NAS) Arakan Cantonment, Lagos. The event had in attendance of the senior officers, officers, personnel, families and friends of the beneficiary.

While congratulating the beneficiary and the acting Deputy Chief of Staff Administration HQ NAS, the Special Guest of Honour and CCS stated that there is a general belief within the Nigerian Military that promotion comes from God, but through hard work, dedication, discipline and loyalty. He gave glory to God for the elevation of the senior officer, noting that divine favour had played a key role in the achievement. Major General Abdullahi described the promoted senior officer as a committed and dedicated senior officer who has consistently distinguished himself through hard work and loyalty to service. He urged him to sustain these admirable qualities in order to reach the peak of his military career. The CCS also used the opportunity to appreciate the officer’s family for their unwavering support, which he noted is critical to career success in the military profession.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Deputy Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Signals, Brigadier General Preye Zipele, congratulated the senior officer on his promotion, describing it as a well-deserved achievement earned through years of service and steady progression through the ranks. He charged the promoted senior officer to be even more dedicated and mindful of the responsibilities associated with his current rank, urging him to continually strive to become a better officer and position himself for higher responsibilities and future advancement.

In a similar vein, the immediate past Director, Nigerian Army System Development Centre, Brigadier General Abimbola Youssuph (Rtd), expressed gratitude to God on behalf of the decorated officer. He stated that promotion in the military is a privilege and significant milestone, advising the senior officer to carve a niche for himself as he progresses to higher ranks. Brigadier General Youssuph expressed confidence in the officer’s capabilities and prayed that his next promotion would come as and when due, without hitches. He also prayed for good health for the officer to enjoy the new rank and used the occasion to appreciate the officer’s family for their steadfast support.

In his vote of thanks, the decorated senior officer, Colonel Chukwudi Nwosu, expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God for the grace to witness the decoration ceremony. He thanked the Chief of Army Staff for finding him worthy of the new rank and for the confidence reposed in him. He also appreciated the CCS for his mentorship, direction, and guidance, noting that his leadership’s qualities, charismatic nature and professional example had greatly shaped him for higher responsibilities both within and outside the country.

Colonel Nwosu further extended his appreciation to the Chief of Staff HQ NAS, directors, senior officers, and principal staff officers of HQ NAS for their mentorship and collective wisdom, which he described as instrumental in shaping his conduct as a senior officer. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his wife for her sacrifices, patience, and unwavering support in the home front. He therefore concluded by pledging to uphold the values of discipline, loyalty, integrity, and selfless service as he continues to give his best to the Nigerian Army and the nation.
