Commander Corps of Signals Reaffirms Commitment To Strengthening Partnership With NAFRC
The Commander Corps of Signals (CCS), Major General Tanimu Abdullahi, has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening partnership and collaboration with the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) Oshodi-Lagos in furtherance of joint service cooperation and personnel development. The CCS made this known during a courtesy visit by the Commandant NAFRC, Air Vice Marshal Ignatius Ilo, to him at the Headquarters Nigerian Army Signals (HQ NAS), Murtala Mohammed House, Arakan Cantonment, Lagos, on 22 January 2026.
While appreciating the Commandant for the visit, Major General Abdullahi underscored the importance of synergy and collaboration with the prestigious institution saddled with the responsibility of training retiring and retired Armed Forces personnel for smooth transition from military service into civil life. He noted that NAFRC’s role in vocational training, entrepreneurship development, and skills acquisition aligns with the need for inter-service cooperation, especially within a joint operational environment.
The CCS further stated that the Corps of Signals remains the backbone of communication services, and Information and Communication Technology support for the Nigerian Army, adding that the Corps is open to meaningful collaboration with NAFRC and other relevant organisations to enhance capacity building and service delivery. He described the Commandant as an indefatigable senior officer who places premium on the welfare of his coursemates and subordinates, noting that such leadership qualities are commendable.
Earlier in his remarks, the Commandant, NAFRC, Air Vice Marshal Ignatius Ilo, expressed his deep appreciation to the CCS for receiving him despite his tight schedule. He recalled their long-standing professional relationship as coursemates and their shared experiences serving together at the Defence Headquarters, which, he said, have positioned them to pursue a common goal of advancing the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Air Vice Marshal Ilo noted that both institutions stand to benefit immensely from closer collaboration and pledged his commitment to strengthening the existing relationship between NAFRC and the Corps of Signals. He assured that efforts would be made to elevate the partnership to a higher level of engagement. The Commandant also called on officers and personnel of HQ NAS to continue to support and cooperate with the CCS in order to move the Corps of Signals forward towards the successful achievement of his mandate.
The visit featured a quarter guard, presentation of plaque, and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
