Commander Corps Of Supply and Transport Commissions Remodeled Ashanti Barracks Frontage

The Commander Corps of Supply and Transport (CCST), Major General ND Shagaya, on Monday, 16 February 2026, commissioned the remodeled frontage of Ashanti Barracks, Apapa, Lagos. The project is one of several ongoing infrastructural developments being executed within the barracks by the Commander 70 Command Supply and Transport, Brigadier General UC Ezeh.

In his remarks during the commissioning ceremony, the Special Guest of Honour and CCST, Major General ND Shagaya, commended the Commander 70 Supply and Transport for his commitment towards improving the living standards of officers and soldiers residing in Ashanti Barracks. He urged him to sustain the tempo and ensure that the barracks continues to witness positive transformation, particularly in areas that directly impact personnel welfare

The projects, which align with the Chief of Army Staff’s “Soldier First” mantra, are aimed at improving troops’ living conditions and enhancing their overall welfare within the barracks environment.

In his vote of thanks, the Commander 70 Command Supply and Transport, Brigadier General UC Ezeh, expressed his deepest appreciation to the CCS for the confidence reposed in him, describing the opportunity to serve as a rare privilege which he does not take for granted. He assured that ongoing projects within the barracks would be completed as planned, with the overall objective of elevating troops’ living conditions to the highest attainable standards.

The event was attended by several senior military officers, including the Commandants of Nigerian Army Intelligence School and the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration, as well as the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) QUORRA. Others present were the Commander Force Protection Group, Nigerian Air Force Base Ikeja and the Commandant Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police Camp, Apapa.
