Commander Corps Signal Commends Outgoing Chief Of Staff, Charges Officers To Emulate His Exemplary Leadership

The Commander Corps of Signals (CCS), Major General Mohammed Abdullahi has commended the outgoing Chief of Staff (COS), Headquarters Nigerian Army Signals (HQ NAS), Major General Solomon Emmanuel, for his hard work, dedication, and disciplined, while charging officers and personnel of HQ NAS to emulate his exemplary leadership style. This was disclosed during a send-off ceremony organised in honour of the outgoing COS, held at the HQ NAS, Murtala Mohammed House, Arakan Cantonment, Lagos, on 5 January 2026.

Speaking at the event, the CCS congratulated Major General Emmanuel on his recent well deserved promotion to the esteemed rank of Major General in the Nigerian Army, which subsequently necessitated his posting. He described the outgoing COS as a thorough professional who meritoriously served the Corps of Signals throughout his tenure. The CCS stated that Major General Emmanuel brought diligence, commitment and operational discipline to the Headquarters, adding that he has no doubt in his capacity to excel and deliver effectively in his new appointment.

Major General Abdullahi further charged officers and soldiers of HQ NAS to sustain the high standards set by the outgoing COS, stressing that continuity in professionalism, teamwork and dedication to duty remains critical to the growth and effectiveness of the Corps of Signals.

In his vote of thanks, the outgoing COS, Major General Emmanuel, expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God for granting him the grace to rise through ranks and successfully conclude his tenure as COS. He extended his heartfelt appreciation to the CCS for the encouragement, guidance, support and prayers received throughout his service as COS.

Major General Emmanuel also thanked the Directors at the Headquarters, independent commanders, principal staff officers, and personnel of HQ NAS for their unwavering teamwork and cooperation, which he described as instrumental to the achievements recorded during his tenure. He urged them to sustain the tempo and continue to work collectively to move the Corps of Signals forward.

He concluded by praying that, in due course, all personnel would experience similar celebrations in their careers, noting that just as his transition and promotion were seamless, theirs would also be seamless and rewarding.
