
Commander NATRAC Inaugurates Troops Of Exercise Fast Bolt IV Double Stream
The Commander Nigerian Army Training Centre (NATRAC) Major General AGL Haruna today January 26 inaugurated troops of Exercise FAST BOLT IV double stream at the Kontagora Military Cantonment Parade Ground. The specialised training programme will reinvigorate and improve troops capacity in confronting contemporary challenges and multi dimensional threats in the country.
In his opening remarks General Haruna stated that the inauguration today symbolized the reaffirmation of NATRAC unwavering mandate to adequately train Nigerian Army troops to confront evolving asymetric threats of terrorism and insurgency. He stated that the training which started from 19 January will last up to 8 May 2026 covering a duration of 15 weeks 6 days.
According to the Commander, the training will focus on battle drills, survival training, convoy drills, marksmanship, base camp security and counter ambush drills. Other areas will include use of social media, human right violation and abuse as well as gender policy for Armed Forces of Nigeria among others.
General Haruna further stated that the training in NATRAC is aimed at enhancing troops capacity in line with the Command Philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff which is to “To advance the transformation of the Nigerian Army into a more professional, adaptable, combat ready and resilient force capable of decisively discharging its constitutional responsibilities within a joint and multi-agency environment “. He said the training is critical to building the troops confidence and providing them with the necessary skills to face the numerous security challenges that the country is currently confronting headlong.
The Commander stated that basic infrastructure has been provided for a well structured training programme to enable the trainees have a robust training experience and warned against any form of indiscipline as defaulters will be severely sanctioned. He also drew the attention of the trainees to the issue of the abuse of social media which could bring disrepute to the Nigerian Army. The commander charged the instructors to uphold the highest standards of instruction and ethical conduct, ensuring that all trainings remain relevant and professional. He thanked the Chief of Army Staff for his continued support and strategic guidance to the centre.
General Haruna during his remarks also thanked his principal Staff Officers, soldiers and administrative staff and urged them to give their best in order to achieve the aim of the training. The Inauguration ceremony was brought to close with three hearty cheers and group photographs with the trainees.
