Commander TRADOC Nigerian Army Addresses Directing Staff and Candidates As Senior Staff Course Qualifying Examination Gets Underway

The Commander, Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOCNA), Major General Kevin Aligbe, on Sunday, 10 August 2025 addressed members of the Directing Staff and candidates participating in the Senior Staff Course Qualifying Examination (SSCQE) at the Ihejirika Auditorium, Jaji Military Cantonment, Kaduna State.

In his capacity as Examination President, General Aligbe stated that the SSCQE is designed to assess the proficiency of candidates while enhancing their junior leadership capabilities for higher responsibilities in the Nigerian Army. He noted that successful completion of the examination is a major prerequisite for officers to attend the Senior Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, as well as other staff colleges overseas.

General Aligbe highlighted the diligence of the Examination Panel in ensuring the fairness and integrity of the examination process. He emphasized that performance in the SSCQE is a key determinant of career progression in the Nigerian Army and cautioned against any form of examination malpractice, stressing that strict measures are in place to uphold the examination’s integrity.

The Commander announced that outstanding performers would be recognized with Certificates of Excellence, Letters of Commendation, and Rewards, with their achievements documented in their personnel files at Army Headquarters.

In his welcome remarks, Major General Usman Yusuf, Commander Infantry Corps Centre (ICC), urged candidates to maintain discipline and etiquette throughout the examination, noting that the SSCQE is a decisive factor in candidates’ progress in the Nigerian Army.

The event was attended by the Representative of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Muhammad Kana, Deputy Chief of Training (Army), Courses and Examinations, Army Headquarters Department of Army Training, Major General Ayoola Aboba, Chief of Training TRADOC NA, Major General Peter Okoye, Acting Director Examination, TRADOC NA, Brigadier General Danjuma Dantani, Director Examination (Army), Army Headquarters Department of Training, Brigadier General Haruna Dasuki, Principal Staff Officers from TRADOC NA, ICC and Observers from units and formations in the Nigerian Army. The event ended with group photographs.
