Commodore Chindo Usman Yahaya Takes Over As Commander Command Naval Drafting

On Friday, 21 November 2025, Commodore Chindo Usman Yahaya officially assumed office as Commander Command Naval Drafting (CND) during a handing and taking over ceremony held at the CND Conference Room. In his valedictory remarks, Rear Admiral Mohammed Yakubu Dahiru expressed appreciation to officers and ratings for their support and collective effort in achieving significant milestones during his tenure. He highlighted his tour of duty, challenges and achievements, and urged personnel to extend the same support to his successor. He also observed a one-minute silence for the late Cdr MO Ibidoja, who was the Acting Executive Officer before his passing.

In his maiden address, Cdre CU Yahaya thanked the outgone Commander for his contributions toward fulfilling the mandate of CND and solicited continued support and cooperation from personnel to further elevate the Command. Highlights of the event included the signing of handing and taking over notes, transfer of authority through the CND flag, and attendance by notable personalities such as Mrs Dahiru; Commander NNS LUGARD; Cdre AO Ojo; Commander 12 Brigade NA, represented by Brig Gen Sidi; the State Security Adviser to the Kogi State Government, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd); the Chief of Banda, HRH Mohammed Jibrin; and the Chairman of Lokoja LGA, Mr Abdullahi, among others.
