Customs Holds Two-Day Sensitisation for Stakeholders in Apapa Ahead of B’Odogwu Implementation

As part of preparations for the deployment of the B’Odogwu platform, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has organised a two-day training session for stakeholders operating within the Apapa Area Command on how to use the platform.

The sensitisation programme, held on 19–20 February 2025 at the command’s headquarters in Apapa, Lagos, aimed to equip stakeholders with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate the B’Odogwu application effectively.

Participants were guided through the platform’s features, functionalities, and operational procedures.

The Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, represented by Deputy Comptroller (DC) Administration, Henry Eromode, emphasised the importance of the training and urged stakeholders to participate fully to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.

“The importance of training cannot be overstated because, for a new system, it is essential to familiarise you with some of its features. This transition from the old system, Nigeria Integrated Customs Information System (NICIS), requires adequate preparation,” DC Eromode stated.

“We know the pilot project for B’Odogwu has already been launched at PTML, so in preparation for its implementation here in Apapa, it has become imperative to organise this training session for stakeholders and officers of the command,” he added.

He reiterated that introducing the B’Odogwu application is part of NCS’s efforts to modernise its operations and enhance trade facilitation.

The two-day training session saw a large turnout of stakeholders, including importers and exporters, who expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the service.
