The Nigeria Customs Service has held a one-day training program for stakeholders on the seamless importation process in Ikeja Lagos State.

The workshop, held on Tuesday, 16 July 2024, had the Zonal Coordinator Zone ‘A’, ACG Saidu Yusuf, represented by the Commandant of the Customs Training College, Ikeja, Deputy Comptroller (DC) Haniel Hadison.

He expressed that the workshop aims to ensure seamlessness and clarity in Customs processes & procedures, particularly regarding shipment clearance at the seaport and airport.

According to him, “World Customs Organization has a tool which is Advance Ruling, and this gives a platform for stakeholders to leverage upon to have clarity in areas of carrying out their business transactions at the seaport seamlessly without hitches.

“The sensitisation started with officers and now has metamorphosised to stakeholders.”

Speaking further, Hadison said it would reduce the influx of illicit goods. “Also, there will be transparency in Customs operations at all levels.”

Stakeholders at the workshop commended the service for a job well done.
