Defence and Services Chiefs Of Operations Assess Ongoing Operations In Operation Hadin Kai

In a bid to enhance operational gains in the North East theatre of operations, the Chiefs of Operations from the Defence and Services Headquarters, led by the Chief of Defence Operations (CDOPS), Major General Emeka Onumajuru, have conducted an assessment visit to Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) Maiduguri, from 13 – 14 August 2025.

Speaking during the visit, General Onumajuru conveyed the appreciation of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa OFR and all the Service Chiefs to commanders, officers and personnel of OPHK for their efforts in the ongoing operations. He charged them to sustain the tempo of operations and maintain the resilience, adding that OPHK had the full support of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. The CDOPS highlighted the need for OPHK to always retain the initiative and not lose sight of the overall mandate of the operations, which is hinged on the restoration of normalcy and socio economic activities in the North-East region. He thanked the Theatre Command for hosting the strategic meet and assured that the challenges presented will be given the needed attention by the CDS and the Service Chiefs

In their separate submissions, the Chiefs of Operations Army, Navy and Air Force, commended the Theatre Command for the efforts they have put in so far and the relative peace achieved in the North East region.

Earlier, the Theatre Commander Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, stated that the engagement was timely, and coming at a defining moment in the operational calendar of OPHK. He emphasized that the gains achieved under OPHK are a testament to the joint collective dedication, professionalism, and sacrifice of everyone who has a stake in the operations, enhanced synergy between the Services, as well as other security agencies.

As part of the activities during the visit, a dinner in honour of the Chiefs and resource persons, was organised at Major General MSA Aliyu Hall, Officers’ Mess and Suites.

The engagement afforded field commanders the opportunity to mutually engage with the operations chiefs and resource persons, share operational experiences and chart a way forward for better operational results.

Highlights of the visit were; presentation of briefs, interactive session, presentation of souvenirs and group photographs.

The engagement was attended by senior military officers, commanders and staff officers of OPHK amongst others.
