
Depot Nigerian Army Osogbo Decorates Promoted Officers, Reiterates Commitment To Personal Standards
In a colourful investiture ceremony held on Friday 24 October 2025 at the Black Panther Officers’ Mess, Depot Nigerian Army Osogbo Osun state decorated newly promoted officers of the institution and charged them to continue upholding the highest standards of professionalism and discipline in the discharge of their duties.
In his remarks, Brigadier General Buhari Madaki commended the officers for their exceptional leadership qualities, dedication to duty, and loyalty to the service. He noted that their promotion was a testament to their hard work, commitment, and adherence to the core values of the Nigerian Army. He further charged them to see their elevation as a call to greater responsibility and continued service to the nation.
The Commandant emphasized that promotions in the Nigerian Army are based on merit and performance, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding excellence. He expressed confidence that the newly promoted officers would continue to contribute meaningfully to the overall success of the Army in achieving its constitutional roles and sustaining national security.
Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the decorated officers, Colonel Michael Oduleye expressed profound gratitude to the Almighty God for life and the privilege to attain the new rank. He appreciated the Chief of Army Staff for finding them worthy of elevation and extended special thanks to the Commandant, Brigadier General Buhari Madaki, for his exemplary leadership, mentorship, and continuous support. He pledged that the officers would remain steadfast in upholding the ideals of the Nigerian Army through discipline, dedication, and professionalism.
The officers decorated were Colonel Michael Oduleye, Captain Khalid Surajo, Captain Mohammed Sime, Captain Israel Ayodele, and Captain Victor Uche, who were elevated from the ranks of Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel, and Lieutenant to Captain respectively.
The event was graced by senior officers, colleagues, and family members, who joined in celebrating the newly promoted officers for their well-deserved elevation. The ceremony reflected the enduring culture of honour, regimentation, and esprit de corps that defines the Nigerian Army.
