Depot Nigerian Army Zaria Commences Novices Boxing For 89 Regular Recruits Intake

In line with the Training Directive of Depot Nigerian Army (NA) Zaria, Kaduna State for 89 Regular Recruits Intake training, the Institution has commenced the Novices Boxing Competition holding at Depot NA Physical Training Ground.

The two weeks competition is designed to instill the warrior ethos in the Recruits, basic physical combat skills, develop the killer instinct in them so as to prepare them physically and Psychologically ready to face the adversary eyeball to eyeball, which is an important quality for their future roles as soldiers of the Nigerian Army.

The Novices boxing competition provides a veritable platform for the Recruits to showcase their physical fitness, mental agility, resilience and guts which is hallmark of a Nigerian soldier. The Depot Nigerian Army Zaria remains committed to developing the skills and character of Recruits, preparing them for the challenges of life in the Army.

The Novices Boxing Competition will no doubt equipt the Recruits with the necessary criteria needed as Soldiers for the sacred role of defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

Present during the competition was the Commandant Depot NA Zaria Major General Ahmadu Bello Mohammed, the Chief of Staff Colonel Saliu Tafida other Senior Officers, Officers, Soldiers and Recruits of the Institution.
