
Director Civil-Military Affairs Visit Headquarters Nigerian Army Armoured Corps
The Director Civil-Military Affairs (DCMA) Maj Gen OA Fadairo visits the Commander Armoured Corps(CAC) Maj Gen OC Ajunwa at the Headquarters Nigerian Army Armoured Corps (HQ NAAC) today, 14 April 2025, at the Commander’s Conference Room in Gen IBB Complex, Obienu Barracks.
In his remarks, the DCMA stated that the primary objective of the visit was to deliver a sensitization lecture on human rights and its application to Nigerian Army personnel. The lecture aimed to educate military personnel on their responsibilities and obligations regarding human rights, promoting a culture of respect and protection for civilians and fellow soldiers. This initiative underscores the importance of human rights awareness in military operations.
In his response, the Commander Armoured Corps, Major General OC Ajunwa, welcomed the DCMA and his team, expressing gratitude for the initiative and highlighting the significance of human rights awareness for military personnel. The lecture will cover topics such as the principles of human rights, the role of military personnel in upholding human rights, and the consequences of human rights violations.
This visit demonstrates the Nigerian Army’s commitment to promoting professionalism and adherence to international humanitarian law among its personnel. By educating soldiers on human rights, the Army aims to enhance its operational effectiveness and maintain positive relationships with local communities.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of souvenirs, signing of the visitor’s book, and it ended with a group photograph.
