DR. Emeka Vitalis OBI Assumes Duty as Permanent Secretary FMBEP
Dr. Emeka Vitalis Obi has assumed duty as the Permanent Secretary of Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning. He takes over from Engr. Nebeolisa Anako whose tenure as the Permanent Secretary ends yesterday after having put in 35 years in service to the nation.
Dr. Emeka Obi during the brief handover ceremony acknowledged the pivotal role the Ministry plays in the preparation and coordination of budgets and therefore called on management and staff of the Ministry to work assiduously to achieve the goals of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
He promised to offer strategic leadership in his position as a Permanent Secretary as he called for the cooperation of management staff to achieve this.
The out-going Permanent Secretary Engr. Nebeolisa Anako noted that he enjoyed working in the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning more than his previous Ministries during his tour of duty as it offered him a lot of interesting opportunities and challenges.
Anako appreciated the management of the Ministry for their support while he was in office and thus called on them to extend that same support and cooperation to the new Permanent Secretary in order to achieve the mandates of the Ministry and consequently realize the aims and objectives of the Federal Government in establishing the Ministry.
Dr. Emeka Obi was appointed Permanent Secretary by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently. He served as a Director in the State House Clinic before his recent appointment as a Permanent Secretary.
Dr. Obi hails from Oraifite in Anambra State.
