Drake Cancels US/Canada Tours on Doctor’s Orders as Ankle Injury Persists
Drake is nursing an ankle injury, and this is affecting his Summer Sixteen tour with rapper Future.
Yesterday, the Toronto rapper announced that he is canceling his scheduled shows in Toronto, Philadelphia and Newark.
“I hate to be told I can’t do something, but under doctor’s orders to allow me time to recuperate, I am being forced to postpone the intense three shows in a row in cities which have only ever shown me unconditional support,” Drake continued in his statement on OVO’s blog.
Drake noted that he was ordered to cancel the New Jersey shows, but he intends to appear at one because he had never performed at the venue before.
“I am crushed to even be typing this announcement because I feel like I am letting my fans in these cities down. I only want to give you the best show you deserve, I promise — I will make it up to you.”
This announcement has sparked worry among fans especially because the rapper didn’t state the extent of his injury or how long it would take him to heal, but he promised to return with “new music and a stronger ankle.”
