EFCC, Kano State Bureau of Lands Partner against Corruption
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and the Kano State Bureau of Lands Management have agreed to collaborate to fight against corruption in the land sector in Kano State.
This was the high point of discussion on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, when the Permanent Secretary of the Bureau, Dr Zainab Ibrahim Maji, paid a courtesy visit to the EFCC’s Kano Zonal Office.
The Permanent Secretary, who led a team of senior personnel of the organization to the EFCC office, said she wants a more robust synergy and working relationship between the two organizations.
Dr. Zainab Maji further appealed to the Commission for the creation of an EFCC Desk Office and Liaison Officer to coordinate affairs between the two agencies the assistance of the EFCC.
“We believe it is very important to pay this visit, so that we can have a better collaboration between us, understand your rules and regulations to guide us through doing our job better”, Dr. Zainab Maji, said.
“We also want to request for a liaison officer between EFCC and the Bureau from our side and one from your side so that if anything arises, we will be collaborating through these liaison officers. The presence of EFCC at the Bureau will scare and deter perpetrators of fraud in the agency because with the presence of EFCC, everybody will be cautious’’, she added.
