EFCC, Nigeria Customs Collaborate Against Corruption
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Nigerian Customs Service have pledged to synergise in the fight against corruption in Nigeria.
The Comptroller, Oyo/ Osun Area Command of the Customs, Comptroller E. D Chikan made the pledge today, 29th November, 2017 while on a working visit to the EFCC Ibadan zonal office.
According to Chikan, the commendable efforts of the EFCC in anti-corruption crusade has become strategic to the anti-corruption mantra of the government”.
He said that the Nigerian Customs Service and the EFCC will concertedly work for the development of the country; “therefore, we will continue to maintain the existing synergy between the two agencies as we need to work together for the development of the country”.
Akanninyene Ezima, Ibadan Zonal Head of the EFCC who received the Comptroller and his entourage on behalf of the Acting Executive Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu commended the Command for finding time for the visit.
He reiterated the commitment of the Commission to the promotion and sustenance of a robust inter-agency collaboration and partnership.
He also urged the Customs Chief to continue to strive hard in his commitment to service to the nation and explained that the collaboration between the two agencies should continue in the fight against corruption.
