EFCC Partners JAMB On Corruption Fight
He who made the disclosure during a visit to the JAMB Head office, Abuja on February 6, 2018 appreciated all the support the Commission had enjoyed from the Board.
The EFCC boss commended JAMB for its giant strides especially in being transparent in its activities and called on other agencies of government to also make accountability and transparency their watchword.
He specifically appreciated the JAMB for all its support in facilitating the confirmation exams of EFCC Staff saying, “I want to thank you for all the support especially in coordinating our confirmation examinations, for all the resources/facilities made available for its success”.
The anti-graft czar described corruption as a menace that leaves devastating effects on the socio-economic life of citizenry adding that all hands must be on deck to curb the dreaded monster in order to secure a future for the younger generation.
He also used the opportunity to call on the media to support the anti-corruption fight by way of sensitizing Nigerians on the ills of corruption and its negative effects.
In his remark, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar, JAMB, applauded Magu’s efforts and courage in the fight against corruption despite all the odds.
“Many people may have different opinion on how you approach the corruption war but the truth is that we are going to sink the boat, if we do not do something right about fighting corruption”, he said.
He noted that corruption fight is a herculean and delicate job especially in a society where corruption is endemic.
According to him, “anybody that is ready to fight corruption particularly in our clime must be ready to submit everything he has. He must be ready to pay whatever cost that may come his way because if you are fighting corruption in a society where it is endemic, you are a complete stranger and everybody who considers himself as resident of the barn will want to evict a stranger”.
The JAMB Registrar called all patriots to join the fight against corruption saying, “I believe that everybody who loves this country called Nigeria should join hands in fighting corruption and in ensuring that whatever is wrong through corruption is corrected”.
Oloyede praised the efforts of all anti-graft agencies for shaping people’s way of doing things adding that, if EFCC and ICPC had not been created, the whole country would have been in a mess.
The EFCC’s Chairman was accompanied on the visit by Director, Public Affairs, Osita Nwajah; Head Media & Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren; Head Enlightenment and Reorientation Unit, Samin Amaddin and Desk Officer Inter-Faith, Aisha Mohammed.
