Effective Counter-Insurgency Requires Comprehensive Interagency Collaboration – Maj Gen AS Ndalolo

The Chief of Training Army, Major General Abubakar Ndalolo has stressed that effective counter-insurgency requires a comprehensive approach that integrates the efforts of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) alongside the Armed Forces and other security agencies. He made this known during the Opening Ceremony of Army Headquarters Garrison Operations Planning Cadre 2025 held today at Nigerian Army Resource Centre Asokoro,Abuja.

The Chief of Training (Army) who was represented by the Deputy Chief of Training (Army), Training Linkages and Integration, Maj Gen Ifeanyi Otu noted that every stake holder has a role to play from intelligence gathering, humanitarian support, infrastructure development, rehabilitation and integration of affected communities. Adding that the collaborative efforts is what ensures lasting peace and unity in the security sector.

Maj Gen Ndalolo further encouraged participants to take full advantage of the cadre, engage actively with facilitators, share experiences, and translate the knowledge gained into practical operational strategies that will enhance national security outcomes.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the Commander Army Headquarters Garrison, Maj Gen Maxwell Dangana stated that the Operations Planning Cadre 2025 is designed to refresh participants’ knowledge of operational planning processes and improve their ability to think critically, anticipate challenges, and develop innovative courses of action in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy. He noted that the mix participants reflected the importance of cooperation among all security agencies.

He further urged participants to approach the training with open minds and make the most of the opportunity, emphasizing that the cadre would be facilitated by seasoned professionals to ensure a rich and interactive experience.

The 4-day event which brought together officers from various Nigerian Army formations, sister security agencies, paramilitary organizations, ministries, departments, and agencies has its theme as “Integrated Mission Planning: The Roles of Ministries, Departments and Agencies in enabling Proactive Solutions to Counter-Insurgency Operations in Federal Capital Territory”.

Highlight of events included lecture presentation, interactive sessions, presentation of souvenirs to the Special Guest of Honour and resource persons as well as a group photograph.
