False Video Alert: Video Of Captured Soldiers Not Nigerian – Nigerian Army
The attention of a viral video circulating on social media, claiming that Nigerian Army soldiers were captured by terrorists from the Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) group in Mali, has been confirmed to be false. After thorough verification and fact-checking, it can be vividly seen that the uniforms worn by the soldiers in the video are totally different from the Nigerian Army camouflage.
Also, the insignia on the right shoulder of one of the captured soldiers, Green, Yellow, and Red is similar to the flag of the Republic of Mali.
We urge the public to disregard the false recircled videos and rely on credible sources of information. The Nigerian Army remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
