Fans React As Kylie Jenner and JAY-Z Are Tied On Forbes’ Rich List
Forbes just released its annual Richest Celebrities list and a lot of people are upset about it.
The list features the usual names: Oprah Winfrey at number 3 with $2.8 billion, Diddy at number 8 with $825 billion, and Michael Jordan at 4 with $1.7 billion.
Number 5, though, came in at a tie, with cosmetics mogul Kylie Jenner having the same net worth as rapper JAY-Z: $900 million.
This has people upset.
Social media users have blamed racism, saying why a world-renowned rapper will be worth the same as a 21-year-old reality star.
Others, though, have quickly presented more practical reasons Kylie has reason to the position she is.
She was born into a wealthy family, they explained, and built on that, going into the cosmetics industry – a very lucrative industry – and using her massive online presence to sell her products.
