Intelligence have gathered that not less than five persons were killed while scores sustained injuries on Tuesday night after hoodlums blocked the Gada-Biyu highway in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Sources disclose that the assailants who were heavily armed set two trucks ablaze during the incident.
The cause of the incident cannot be ascertained as of the time of filing this report, however, it is believed to be connected to the recent attack that occurred at Irigwe community in Bassa LGA of Plateau where about 45 residents were massacred in cold blood by suspected Herdmen.
Reacting to the Gada-Biyu attack, the Chairman of Jos Local Government Area, Shehu Bala, who expressed his sadness over the incident, said:
“Yes, there was an incident at Gada-Biyu area, some trucks were burnt.
“Now things have been brought under control, but I am sure we will get more information.”
