Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command Flags Off Housing Projects At Nigerian Navy Ship Delta Credits Chief Of The Naval Staff Leadership

On Thursday, 18 December 2025, the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) DELTA officially commenced the construction of a 28-man ratings’ accommodation and the extensive remodelling of the Executive Officer’s quarters. The ceremony marked another step in the Nigerian Navy’s ongoing efforts to improve personnel welfare and operational effectiveness across its formations.

Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour, the Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Suleiman Ibrahim, expressed deep appreciation to the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas (Admiralty Medal), noting that the projects are a direct outcome of the CNS’s strategic leadership and clear welfare-driven directives. He emphasized that decent housing remains a critical pillar of discipline, morale, and operational efficiency, stressing that a well-housed sailor is better motivated and more effective in safeguarding national assets.
