Flood: Borno State Government Warns Against Harmful Practices and Breach Of Security

In the aftermath of the recent flood disaster and associated health and safety risks, the Borno State Government calls on members of the public to take their personal health and hygiene, and public security seriously.

Consequently, members of the public should:

1. Desist from buying, selling, processing or consuming contaminated grains or other food items that were salvaged from flooded stores. Any food that was mixed with the flood water constitutes a serious health risk.

2. Desist from butchering, distributing, processing, selling, bullying or consuming dead animals. Dead animals are poisonous.

2. Desist from pilfering, vandalising, tampering with public or private property.

3. Not to consume, swim or bath in dirty or stagnant water. Even when boiled, dirty water contains dangerous chemicals and pathogens that are dangerous to health

Anyone who violates this warning shall face the wrath of the law.
