I Found a New Me I Didn’t Know Existed – Toke Makinwa Pens Touching Note

Last night Toke Makinwa took to her Instagram to write an emotional note on how far she has come, the difficulties she faced and having to almost buckle when confronted with her greatest fear.

“I used to underestimate myself, I would usually speak myself out of doing things, the voice of fear was so loud till what I feared the most happened to me (like Job) and In my confusion and fear, not knowing what next, I had to learn the hard way,” she wrote.

Makinwa then recounted having to move into her first apartment when she had little, and how her faith kept her, paid the bills and now that she is all grown, she is stronger.

“Life happens, life doesn’t stop so when next you are faced with ‘how will I do this’?” Think if he brought me to it, his grace is sufficient to take me thru it and I will come out on the other side. Just like Job, (job had in the end much more than he lost in the beginning) my season of restoration will come.”

The 31-year-old’s marriage crumbled last year after Ayida cheated on her and put his mistress in the family way. When many fans thought she would return to the cheating partner, Makinwa surprised them all by filing for divorce.

Now, Toke Makinwa updates her page with her struggles and achievements, the most recent feat being landing a deal as a co-host of Ebony Life TV’s Moments.

“In my confusion and fear, not knowing what next, I had to learn the hard way but thru it all I found a new me, a girl I didn’t know existed,” she revealed yesterday, adding, “and it’s been really fun getting to know her.”

The post has drawn lots of positive reactions from fans, especially those who watched her struggle to get by when her personal life was laid bare on social media.

“Bae, ur ex hubby is missing, he just threw gold away, loving you joor,” one fan @Mzjokky29 said, and another, @yuurenma, added:

“Been following you for awhile but it’s my first time commenting on your post, You are really a strong girl. Keep. Motivating the younger generation, people don’t really know how strong there are until the unexpected hit them. Well done, I admire your inner strength.”
