Gen Alabi Lauds The Capacity and Optimal Productive Readiness Of DICON, As DG Sseeks Support and Patronage of 1 Division

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1 Division And Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch ( OPWP), Maj Gen BA ALABI, has commended the efforts of the Director General, Defence Industry Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) Maj Gen AE Edet, in ensuring the optimal productive readiness of the organisation since his assumption of office. Gen Alabi gave the commendation on Thursday, 10 August 2023, when he played host to the DG DICON and members of his entourage at the Division’s Headquarters in Dalet Barracks, Kawo Kaduna.

Earlier in his remarks during the visit, the DG stated that he was highly delighted to be at the Division’s Headquarters to familiarise and seek the support of the GOC because DICON is operating in 1 Division Area of Responsibility. In his words, “The visit to this Headquarters is to seek help and patronage of the Premier Division of Nigerian Army as DICON is ready for mass production, in line with its mandate since its establishment in 1964, which is to meet the equipment needs of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. He disclosed that DICON is ready to operate as a business-oriented organisation and take orders for equipment production for the Armed Forces and its formations, especially 1 Division.

In his remarks, the GOC 1 Division Maj Gen BA Alabi welcomed and commended the DG for his efforts in enhancing the optimal productive readiness of DICON. He assures him of the continued support and patronage of the Division. “Following your pedigree, I have confidence that you will take DICON to greater heights of meeting the need of the Armed Forces of Nigeria”. He said. He then congratulated the DG DICON on his well-deserved appointment and wished him a successful tour of duty.
