Gen. Okoro Commissions Newly Constructed 41 Engineers Brigade RSM Accommodation, Charges Them To Be Conscious Of Their Role and Responsibilities
The General Officer Commanding (GOC)1 Division Nigeria Army and Force Commander, Operation Whirl Punch, Maj General VU Okoro has charged RSMs in the Division to be conscious of their roles and responsibilities as leaders in their own rights. Gen Okoro made this call during the commissioning ceremony of the newly constructed and well furnished 6 bedroom bungalow which comprises of a perimeter fence and gate, guards house, 15KVA generator and a 3.5KVA solar panel at Dalet Baracks Kawo, Kaduna.
The GOC stated that the NA embarked on the project in order to reinforce the esteemed positions of RSM’s in the NA adding that the service imposes a lot of confidence in its RSMs and therefore urged them to live up to that expectations. He thanked the COAS Lt Gen TA Lagbaja for the innovation and provision of the resources for the construction of the befitting accommodation which he said will inspire other soldiers to aspire for the exalted position of an RSM.
Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Acting Commander 41 Engineers Brigade Col MC Akin-Ojo thanked the COAS for his developmental strides and efforts in improving the living condition and welfare of personnel in the NA and urged the beneficiary to make good use of the facility. He admonished the RSM to ensure proper maintenance of the edifice so as to serve the purpose for which it was built.
Highlights of the event was cutting of the Commissioning tape, unveiling of commissioning plague and a tour of the facility by the GOC and other Principal Staff Officers of the Division.
