The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander of Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), Major General EF Oyinlola, has charged troops of the Division to remain committed to their professional development in the discharge of their duties.

The GOC gave this charge during the graduation ceremony of the Division’s Exercise SHINING STAR Course VIII, held at the Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos.

Represented by the Chief of Staff, Brigadier General AU Gumel, Major General Oyinlola congratulated the participants on their successful completion of the training program. He urged them to continue cultivating a culture of personal and professional growth.

“This training is by no means exhaustive. You must seize every opportunity to develop yourself, both personally and professionally, in your respective units,” the GOC stated.

Brigadier General Gumel commended the students for their high level of discipline throughout the program. He emphasized the need for them to remain committed to self-improvement by reading widely and continually practicing the new knowledge and skills acquired at the 3 Division Training School.

In his welcome address, the Division Training Officer, Brigadier General NA Awobi, thanked the GOC for his unwavering support, which contributed to the success of the course. He reported that the course had 101 students from various formations and units within the 3 Division Area of Responsibility.

Brigadier General Awobi noted that the participants exhibited a high level of discipline and determination, which was reflected in their above-average overall performance. The curriculum covered subjects including drone piloting, live firing, map reading, and battle simulation, among others.

Highlights of the event included the presentation of certificates to the graduating students, the conferral of GOC Awards of Merit to those who distinguished themselves during the course, and a group photograph.
