GOC 3 Division Hosts Participants Of National Institute For Policy and Strategic Studies

In a significant event aimed at fostering national development and security, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General EF Oyinlola, hosted the participants from the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) at his office in Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, on 11 September 2025. During the event, which underscores the importance of collaboration between military and policy-making institutions, Major General Oyinlola encouraged the participants to actively contribute to the mandates of the institute and to the broader goals of national development.

The delegation from NIPSS, comprising members of the Armed Forces engaged in advanced studies, was received with a warm welcome by the GOC, who highlighted the importance of their role as future leaders and strategists in the military and national policy landscape. “As you embark on this critical journey, I urge you to give your best towards achieving your mandates. Your contributions are essential not just to your growth but also to the development of our nation,” Major General Oyinlola stated.

Amidst discussions about security, the GOC assured the participants of his command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring their safety in light of the challenges posed by the rocky terrain surrounding the institute. He emphasized that they are to act as ambassadors of the Armed Forces, maintaining a direct line of communication with the sector commander and the Commander of Operation ENDURING PEACE in case of any security threats. “In a cloud of uncertainty, swift communication is paramount. Ensure you are in constant contact with the relevant authorities,” he advised.

Brigadier General NS Onuchukwu, the team leader of the NIPSS participants, expressed gratitude to Major General Oyinlola for his support and commitment to peace in Plateau State. He acknowledged the role of the institute in molding professional stakeholders who are dedicated to national security and development. “We pledge to uphold the values of the Armed Forces and apply the policies and strategies we learn here to real-world challenges,” Onuchukwu affirmed.

In addition to discussions on security, the team leader briefed the GOC on the upcoming sports week, highlighting the need for officials to assist in organizing fair and friendly competitions. This event is seen as an important opportunity for team building and camaraderie among the participants.

The visit was attended by several Principal Staff Officers and Commanders of the Division, including the Chief of Staff, the Commander of 3 Division Garrison, and other key figures, who shared their insights and support. The event included the signing of a visitors’ book, a presentation of gifts, and a group photograph, symbolizing unity and commitment to shared goals.
