
GOC 82 Division Receives 82 Division NAOWA Chairperson On Maiden Courtesy Visit
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division, Nigerian Army, and Commander Joint Task Force South East, Operation UDOKA, Major General Oluremi Fadairo recently received the Chairperson of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), 82 Division Chapter, Mrs Hilda Ijeoma Fadairo, on her maiden courtesy visit to the Division Headquarters.
In his remarks, the GOC warmly welcomed the NAOWA Chairperson and her delegation, describing the visit as timely and significant. He commended NAOWA for its enduring contributions to the welfare of officers’ families and the promotion of unity, harmony, and moral support within the barracks community. Major General Fadairo noted that the well-being of officers’ families remains a critical pillar in sustaining morale, operational effectiveness, and professionalism within the Nigerian Army. He assured the Association of the Division’s continued support and cooperation, encouraging NAOWA to sustain its people-centred programmes that complement the Nigerian Army’s non-kinetic efforts across the Division’s Area of Responsibility.
Earlier, while stating the purpose of her visit, the Chairperson, NAOWA 82 Division Chapter, Mrs Hilda Ijeoma Fadairo extended her heartfelt congratulations to the GOC on his well-deserved appointment as the General Officer Commanding 82 Division, Nigerian Army. She described his leadership record as one marked by excellence, commitment, and dedication to the core ideals of the Nigerian Army, expressing confidence that his tenure would usher in greater peace, unity, and progress within the Division Area of Responsibility and beyond.
Mrs Fadairo highlighted the mission of the Association as a noble platform committed to the welfare and empowerment of army officers’ wives, their families, and the wider barracks community. She explained that NAOWA’s vision is guided by the National President, Mrs Safiyyah Hassan Shuaibu, with emphasis on service to humanity, unity, and selfless contribution towards building a stronger and more supportive Nigerian Army family.
She further emphasized the importance of collaboration with the Division’s leadership, noting that the success of NAOWA programmes is closely linked to the guidance and encouragement of the GOC and his team. She therefore solicited for the GOC’s fatherly advice, mentorship, and continued support as the Association plans to implement impactful programmes focused on women empowerment, education, healthcare awareness, and community development.
