
GOC 82 Division Visits Ground Training Command Enugu, Seeks Stronger Synergy In South-East Security Operations
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division, Nigerian Army (NA), and Commander Joint Task Force (JTF) South East Operation UDO KA, Major General Oluremi A. Fadairo, has paid a familiarization visit to the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Ground Training Command (GTC), Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal AA Shinkafi in Enugu. The visit, which took place on Tuesday 17 November 2025, marked his first official visit to sister services and security agrncies in the Division’s Area of Operations.
Major General Fadairo, who became the 40th GOC of 82 Division and Commander JTF South East Operation UDO KA on 5 November 2025, has consistently emphasized strengthened collaboration as a central pillar of his leadership approach. His visit to the GTC forms part of a broader engagement strategy aimed at fostering unity of purpose among security formations and ensuring seamless coordination in the execution of operational tasks across the South-East.
Welcoming the GOC and his entourage, the AOC GTC expressed deep appreciation for making the Command his first point of call. He noted that the gesture underscored the GOC’s commitment to deepening the long-standing relationship between the NA and the NAF in the region. The AOC highlighted the robust operational, social, and personal ties already existing between both establishments, stressing that such synergy has contributed significantly to successes recorded in ongoing operations against criminal elements threatening peace and stability in the South-East. He commended the Division’s operational acumen, resilience, and professionalism in addressing emerging security challenges.
In his remarks, Major General Fadairo thanked the AOC for the continuous support rendered to 82 Division and Operation UDO KA. He emphasized that enhanced collaboration and information sharing among security agencies remain essential to sustaining the gains already achieved. He further pledged to consolidate joint efforts aimed at improving peace, stability, and operational effectiveness across the region.
The visit featured an interactive session, presentation of souvenirs, inspection of operational areas, and a group photograph, symbolizing the renewed commitment to joint action and strengthened cooperation between the NA and the NAF.
