Gov. Babagana Zulum Receives Wives Of Northern Governors In Borno State
His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Borno State Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum received the Northern Governors Wives Forum (NGWF) on a courtesy call at the Government House Maiduguri, Borno State On Thursday
Her Excellency, the Wife of the Borno State Governor Dr. Falmata Babagana Umara Zulum in her address stated that the forum is in Maiduguri for its annual quarterly meeting.
On behalf of the NGWF, the wife of Kebbi state Governor Dr. Zainab Bagudu in her remarks appreciated his Excellency over his efforts towards restoration of peace and development in the state in and the return of agricultural activities to many areas.
She briefed His Excellency that the forum went to an IDP camp and distributed materials to women and children in addition to sensitization on cancer, drug abuse and gender based violence. Whilst praying for the continued success of the government of Prof Zullum, she used the opportunity to solicit support of the Governor’s Forum so the spouses could expand their project reach
His Excellency, Prof. Zulum in his remarks stated that the Northern Governors Forum will support the NGWF in promoting Girl child education, women development, maternal health, cancer amongst others. He also called on them to use their ability as a forum to provide sustainable solutions towards the menace of children roaming the streets and act against gender based Violence. He promised his support; all within the ambit of the law.
Afterwards, the Forum held its meeting in the First Lady’s office behind closed doors which was its primary objective of the congregation.
