​Governor Of Jigawa State Commends Nigerian Army’s Operational Successes

The Executive Governor of Jigawa State, His Excellency, Mallam Umar Namadi (FCA) has commended the Nigerian Army for it’s commitment and pivotal role in maintaining the state’s security. The Special Guest of Honour, made this commendation during the West African Social Activities 2025 held on 24 January 2026, at Yargaba barracks Dutse, Jigawa state.

​Governor Namadi emphasized that the Brigade has earned its right to celebrate through consistent gallantry and professionalism in the discharge of its constitutional mandates.

​The Governor further expressed high satisfaction with the Brigade’s collaborative synergy with sister security agencies. He noted that the ongoing internal security operations have yielded positive results by improving the safety and socio-economic stability of Jigawa State and also have impacted positively in the lives of the people in the state.

​Earlier, Commander 26 Armoured Brigade, Brigadier General Timinere Joseph Mackintosh, reminded guests that WASA remains a time honored military tradition that marks the end of the training year and the commencement of the new training year. ​He said “WASA provides a vital atmosphere for officers and soldiers to celebrate the rich culture diversity which promotes unity among personnel. He urged troops to redouble their efforts to maintain a peaceful and stable security in the state.

In a vote of thanks, the Chief of Staff, Lieutenant Colonel A Buhari thanked the Special Guest Honour and other dignitries and invited guests for their presence which played a role in making the event memorable.

​Highlights of the Occasion was a colourful display of dance troupes, tug of war contest between the Army and security agencies , presentation of awards to deserving soldiers, beating of the retreat and the lighting of bonfire.
